Ginger and Honey Lemonade

Most people go through their life dehydrated - Most people in the modern world are blessed to have access to clean drinking water, but with treating our water for safe consumption also comes the removal of many essential minerals that our bodies need to be properly hydrated. To combat this reality, it is important to dress up your water and add back some of these hydrating properties so that our cells can be happy. This lemonade recipe is an amazing way to deliver many micronutrients back into our cells. The recipe also yields quite a bit of syrup, so one batch can give you delicious lemonade for the whole week!

For the Honey and Ginger Syrup:

  • 1 cup of honey

  • 1 cup of water

  • ¼ cup chopped ginger

  • The zest of a full lemon

 For the Lemonade:

-       Lemons 

-       Honey Ginger Syrup

-       Filtered water

-       Option: to add in a pinch of sea salt for extra mineral and electrolyte content

 Instructions (Syrup)

1.     Combine honey, water, ginger, and lemon zest in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to a simmer for 3 – 4 minutes

2.     Remove it from heat and let it sit for an hour.

3.     Strain into a jar and store in the fridge. 

 Instructions (Lemonade)

1.     In a large mason jar combine lemons, honey ginger syrup, and filtered water. Add in a pinch of sea salt for extra electrolyte and mineral content. Shake well and enjoy!
