Using homemade bone broth can transform your cooking from a delicious meal to one packed with superfood too. Bone broth is nutrient dense as it is packed with many essential vitamins and minerals as well as collagen. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did!
Ingredients:
- 1 pack of stewing beef (or any other tough cut of beef) cut into bite sized pieces.
- 1/2 c bone broth
- 3 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/3 c of olive or avocado oil
- 2 tsp ground ginger or 2 tbsp fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 c Green onions chopped, more for garnish
- 3 gloves of garlic
- 1/3 c soy sauce (or other substitute)
- Splash of apple cider vinegar
- 1 heaping tbsp of flour
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions:
1. Mix together the broth, honey, sesame oil, red pepper flakes, garlic green onions, soy sauce, ginger, and apple cider vinegar. Blend it until we’ll combined.
2. Combine the mix and the beef into a bowl and cover and refrigerate for at least an hour, preferably longer.
3. Separate the beef from the sauce and brown the beef in a pan on high for 1 minute. Add in the remainder of the sauce and cook until the desired finish of beef is met (rare, medium rare, etc). While cooking, slowly whisk in the flour to get a thicker sauce.
4. Serve on a bed of rice and broccoli topped with green onions and sesame seeds, and enjoy!
For the Rice:
- Rice
- Bone broth
- Butter
1. Soak in filtered water and apple cider vinegar for 6 hours. Rinse and strain.
2. Cook rice per typical directions, BUT substitute water for bone broth and a heaping tablespoon of butter
For the Broccoli:
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 tbsp each of onion and garlic powder
- Juice of half a lemon
- Salt and pepper
- 3 tbsp of avocado oil
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit
2. Combine all ingredients and massage the broccoli for 1 min
3. Place broccoli on a baking tray and bake for 20 mins or until you can easily pierce the broccoli with a fork.
